Your Children’s Welfare
The club clearly provides a full and exciting programme for junior players and is keen to encourage little ones from the age of 3 to join in.
The emphasis is on providing a safe environment in which children can develop physical and social skills whilst having fun.
Those involved with the children both on and off court place the children’s safety and welfare at the forefront of thoughts throughout the sessions.
In line with national and LTA guidelines, HLTC has adopted and implements a Good Practice Policy regarding Child Protection Issues.
As licensed coaches, both Sean Pontin and Simon Davenport are required to hold an Enhanced Disclosure Certificate from the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB).
HLTC also prefers regular volunteers / assistants to agree to apply for a CRB check as further reassurance to parents regarding their children’s welfare whilst at the club. Current volunteers Gill Smith and Sara Adams both hold valid CRB certificates.
Gill Smith is our Child Protection Officer and children and parents are encouraged to contact Gill if they have any concerns or issues that they would like to discuss.
Parents are encouraged to stay and watch coaching sessions but this is of course optional. Refreshments and seating are available to add some enjoyment and comfort for busy mums and dads whilst at the club.
Parents are responsible for their children off court both before and following their session.
